September 21, 2004: After surviving the marriage of two staff members, and the maternity leave of another, the Lost Isles crew has returned from a slow summer to begin the final run of work for beta. Newsletters will continue to be on hold, with all emphasis being work within the actual game itself. When the time is nigh for players to enter the Lost Isles world, we'll send a notification out to our mailing list.

December 31, 2003: Year end newsletter sent out to our mailing list, and added to the Newsletter section of the website for those of you not in our database. 2003 was a great year for Lost Isles, and we go into 2004 with a positive step. The staff at Lost Isles wishes everyone a safe and happy New Year.

November 5: On November 1st, the water-based portion of the travel system was introduced, as was the new town, Tsuuka, on Komadas, and the first of Tsuuka's hunting areas. A pawn broker was brought into the game for the first time, and many new shops. While some of our GMs had uncertain schedules during the end of summer, many are back on a regular time table. Currently, healing, thieving and other non-combative skills are receiving the most attention now that the new area has been released.

October 1: Lost Isles celebrates its second year anniversary! From concept to alpha tested game... thank you to all who have contributed over the last two years.

September 29: Added the September 2003 Newsletter to the Library.

September 23: September newsletter mailed out to our registrants. If you are a registrant and are not receiving the newsletters, please log in and check the box for news and update emails. We will be posting the newsletter on the website by the end of the week, for those who'd like to catch up on news and events without registering.

July 25: Added the July 2003 Newsletter to the Library.

July 18: The second alpha phase is now underway. We brought in our latest batch of testers on Tuesday, July 15th, and things are moving along very smoothly. Following in the next few weeks will be the finalling of the health training paths, advancement, and several non-combat or health related skill training paths. News areas have been opened up, and the current testers have done an excellent job in exploring the world and returning to us the occasional errors, bugs and typos.

Also, the July newsletter was sent out today to all of our registered members with current emails. We will post a copy of the newsletter on the website within the next few days for those of you not on the "news and updates" mail list.

June 24: Much work is being done behind the scenes as the staff prepares for the second group of alpha testers to join in July. Two new hunting areas have been completed, and death and healing continue to be the major system focus. Travel and magic have also begun active coding development, though these are in their earlier stages.

For website additions, there is new artwork. You can view the new race image on the main race page in the library. Also, we have a new non-player race image, the poru, available. Finally, we added a creature image to the main page of the bestiary.

May 27: Added a Newsletter Archive section to the Library.

If you have trouble with your email, or if you suspect you registered to Lost Isles with an old or no-longer operable email, please enter the Members area and update your information.  If you are having trouble with your membership changes, please write to feedback@lostisles.com. When looking through the registration database, it is clear that many people have not set their email preferences, which would prevent them from receiving newsletters or beta testing emails.

May 16: The first Lost Isles Newsletter was sent out to our membership (to those who indicated they wished to receive news emails). If you are uncertain as to which preferences you selected when you registered, simply log in as a member and it will show you your current preferences. There you can edit them to receive future newsletters.

Also, a new section has been created in the Library. There you can view selected room samples. Enjoy!

May 8: Added artwork for megi race page.

April 28: Added artwork for the taquicaotl serpent.

April 22: Added artwork for the snow serpent, the otala serpent, the sea serpent and the land dragon. They are found in the Bestiary under the Dracona heading.

April 21: Added pages for two of the five non-player races, the Durga of the mountainous Adu, and the Khahl of northern Qaroo.

April 11: Added the history of the aoru.

April 7: Added the sea serpent and dragon pages to the Bestiary.

March 11: Alpha testing going well. All bugs found to date properly squashed. A temporary T1 debacle got everyone frustrated, but Verizon took their time and got it all fixed up. Thanks to the testers for their patience! Lost Isles would like to update its FAQ pages with questions from our membership. Have a question? Send it to feedback@lostisles.com, and we'll try to answer it in our next FAQ release.

February 6: Registration page has been revamped and recoded so that it ties in directly to the (coming in beta) public forums. You can also now update your registration information online. If you experience any problems or bugs in the new registration system, please write feedback@lostisles.com. In-game news: buildings being fleshed out in the primary city, combat system ready for testing, merchant systems ready for testing, economy ready for testing, character manager ready for testing, fatigue ready for testing. Closed alpha phase beginning February 10th.

January 14: Added the naktul history.

January 6: Added the dwarven history.

January 3, 2003: Happy New Year! Added histories for the humans, megi and desert elves.

December 12: Adding selections to the bestiary and history sections of the Library.  Progress in these two sections will be continuous over the next month or so. Added recently: the history of the giants, and overview summaries of creature origin for Adu, Komadas and Mubleair Xan.

December 3: Thank you to everyone who sent in submissions to be Lost Isles alpha testers. We made our decisions based on several criteria, among which were our desire to have diversity among the testers, and submissions that caught our interest. We are grateful for the responses we received, and hope to see everyone when we enter an open beta phase later in the new year.

Those who have been selected to be alpha testers will be notified throughout this coming week.

November 8: Added the tribal designations for the desert elves.  An option for The Sixteen Tribes is now at the top of the desert elf race page in the contents list.

November 6: Currently accepting alpha tester submissions from all of the Lost Isles registered membership. Submissions will be accepted over the next three weeks, at which time Lost Isles will review them. Those accepted to join us for a closed alpha phase will be notified by December 9th.

If you did not receive an alpha test submission letter, and are certain you registered with Lost Isles, please write feedback@lostisles.com with your current email address, and the username and password you registered with previously.

November 4: Added a second Frequently Asked Questions (2) page which deals particularly with brief notes about the actual in-game systems of Lost Isles.

October 15: Website news- Added two new images, found in the Desert Elf religion section of the Library. Game news- Character manager completed, fatigue system completed, economy system completed.

August 25: Added a Frequently Asked Questions page in the Diving Sun Interactive section of the website. Still have questions? Write feedback@lostisles.com and ask us. It might just be added to the web page.

August 2: Added the map of the Lost Isles Archipelago.

First debugging of Persona Generator. Send in those errors!

August 1: The Persona Generator is now available for your viewing pleasure. It is in "beta" stage, and it's quite possible visitors will find random glitches or typos. If any occur, feel free to write generator@lostisles.com to report the error. When reporting errors, please include the entire text of the generated persona so that we can better locate the source of the problem.
Unfortunately, the humans will not be joining the rest of the races in the generator at this moment, as they seem to be inexplicably slow in just about everything. If anyone should try to roll up a random human, there will be definite glitches. These need not be reported as we are well aware of them.

In the meantime, as we work out the kinks, enjoy the generator, let the imagination run wild, and Get Lost!

July 26: It just came to our attention that there was a glitch with the GM application on the old server. If you sent in an application, and didn't hear back from us, please resubmit, or forward a Word version of your original application to dsi@lostisles.com. We apologize for any inconvenience.

July 25: Just completed yet another server migration, so things are working better now.  The poll is back up, and now we can finish work on the Persona Generator. Stay tuned.

July 12: Addition of illustrated maps to the geography section, and the inclusion of the human religion at long last. Unfortunately, we still have the poll dismantled, but are working on it.  Bugs in the registration and application systems have been fixed, and are again operational.

June 27: Lost Isles has moved to a new hosting company which can better handle our future projected needs. It is possible that visitors may experience a few irregularities while we bring the new site and databases online. This move is a planned step in our development and will not impact our deadlines for the Persona Generator or beta release. Thank you for your understanding.

May 29: Bug in the polling system fixed.

May 24: Lost Isles is looking for a few talented individuals to join our team. Have what it takes to be a GM? Apply here.

May 24:
Persona Generator coming in July! Stay tuned for updates.
