The histories of each race are presented in a general timeline format. Though each race has its own way of recording history, a standardized system is used here.

This standardized system was originally developed by the humans of Komadas at the conception of the "islander" language which gave the races a common tongue with which to negotiate and trade. As each race adopted the islander language alongside its own native language, so too did a shared view of time and dates evolve. This system is called the "common calendar." Eventually, this system was used throughout the islands to facilitate the exchange of information between cultures.

The islander language was first created by the humans with the naktul, during the negotiations which ended their warring and opened both islands up to trade with each other. All time periods prior to the treaty between Komadas and K'tumal are marked as "P.T." (pre-treaty), and all times after the common calender are refered to as "common."

In the archipelago, it is currently the year 952 by the common calender.
