The dracona are a class of creature, just as reptiles, mammals, amphibians, etc are also classes. This category contains sea serpents and all of the beasts that have evolved from them. This class does not include reptiles, and though some dracona have scales, they are not related to reptiles at all.

Dracona do not fit in one particular mold, but are best described as having a bit of everything. Draconian creatures can have fur, scales, fins, claws, warm, cold, or acidic blood, feathers, tentacles, and skin. What sets the dracona apart from other animals is their highly developed intelligence, their long lives, and a magical element which they inherited from their sea serpent progenitors.
