| Interested in being a Game Master for Lost Isles? We are always on the lookout for talented individuals who want to join our team. The positions we are looking for are web and game programmers, artists and room painters. Game Masters are required to commit at least 20 hours a week to developing the game, work smoothly within a team environment, and have access to a computer and the internet. Programmers DSI is searching specifically for 2-3 talented programmers at this time. Position 1: Interested individuals should have some fluency in C or C++, and be adept with object oriented programming. Programming GMs are responsible for: system coding and implementation; game maintenance and code integrity; development of game objects; and technical and code quality assurance. Position 2: Interested individuals should have extensive knowledge of html, perl, php, and mySQL, or related experience. Working knowledge of java and its many flavors a plus. Individuals should be able to manage databases and organize information clearly. Knowledge of Unix and its variations a plus, but not required. Room Painters Interested individuals should have creative and technical writing ability, and more importantly should be able to translate specific requirements into diverse and interesting room descriptions. Rooms may include building interiors, town exteriors, or anywhere out in the wilds. Painters are also responsible for writing descriptions for all game objects, NPCs, and any other game elements a player might "see." All writing undergoes extensive quality assurance. Ability to accept and understand feedback a must. |
